Prescription Deductibles

April 19, 2008 – 9:06 am

As mentioned previously, your health insurance policy may have a separate prescription deductible from your medical deductible. For example, your doctor visits and common medical deductible may be $500 but your prescription deductible may be $200.

What this means is your coverage will not take effect until you have purchased $200 worth of prescriptions at full price. Once you have fulfilled that obligation, you will begin to enjoy the (generally) co-pay benefit on your prescriptions drugs.
